I'm a Turkish free-lance photographer and a tutor / lecturer, born in 1969. Early ages, I had educated on electronics as a technician and after that, I had studied computer programming but didn't like and succeed it. At that time I was interested in photography. For a while I thought to become a journalist. Therefore I tested myself at a local newspaper (Güneş) had experience to work as a photographer. Later, I entered a Fine Arts University named Mimar Sinan, educated on photography. During the education programmed, I had lots of chances on working and experiencing different photographic opportunities either on art and professional fields. Worked as a staff photographer of a monthly interior design & life style magazine (Vizyon). Worked as a first assistant of some national/foreigner photographers and their photography sessions. Also involved in casting and still photography of commercial films (Tara Production). At the mid 90's I decided to become an academic staff. Until that time, till now I am a member of the university. Besides, I experienced-worked as a photo editor of a life-style magazine for 2 years (Akademist). As a video clip producer (Korean Group), as a location scouter (Wall Paper Magazine) and as a consultant of photographic projects (Discovery Channel, and TV series) I worked.

I have my prior occupation as an Assistant Professor at the Photography Dept. in Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. I've completed PhD and now I give lectures on photography at the same department.

I mostly shoot portrait, fashion, still-life and industrial. Even I rarely work with the magazines, most of the time I regret to work with them. For me a situation like this, might seems like a challenge some times, but on the other hand mostly turns to an agony. Thus, I've learned a lot from the magazines during a period when I worked as a staff photographer and a photo editor. It was like a experiment lab where I can do tests with different films and formats, different processes, plus physically and mentally approaching strategies to the subjects.

I had written a paper on "Film" at the end of 90's. At this thesis, I had tried to explain the technical structure of the photographic film and wanted to share the knowledge which I gained for a long time period by testing different types of films and film brands. Then suddenly, digital age came. So I jumped on it. Now I shoot both film (only 120) and digital. My equipments are a good set of Canon, two sets of Mamiya (RZ 67 and 645 AFD), and a brand new Holga. Besides I'm a MAC user.

At the year 2005, I also wrote an other paper on "Time and Motion in Photography" which aims to summarize the odyssey of photography, an evolution of the mechanical reproduction of the camera, to capture the elusive image and the flickering moment at ages. This research was including a basic application technique of a time-slice photography . A couple of dancing ballets taken by me at the year 2001 with a row of 12 identical cameras working simultaneously only for this research.

I had participated lots of group exhibitions in and out of the country and won some prices or exhibits of national and international photographic contests.

I irregularly write articles at periodic Turkish photography magazines (Fotoğraf Dergisi, F:Dergisi, Photo Digital). And irregularly work as an expert of judicial lawsuits on a related judicial issues whenever court calls. Not a picky professional I am but, really like to shoot well produced projects at Still Life and Fashion. I live and work in Istanbul, have a beautiful wife and a crazy cat.

I would like thank to my beloved big brother Hakan Yildizeli who had saved his time and energy for me and my images.
